Toronto Joomla Day

Postby designguru on Wed Nov 22, 2006 6:34 pm

For all you canucks out there,

We're organising a Joomla conference in Toronto this April - looks like a lot of the feedback from my original announcement stuck to this thread so let's continue discussing it here! :)

What do people think about having it in downtown Toronto the weekend of April 28th/29th, 2007?

I'm going to be organising a Joomla meetup/conference event in Vancouver a week after New Year's (06/07) - anyone in the area?  Drop me a line/respond to this post!

I may be out of town then, but if not, would like to participate.  I look forward to the details.

Let me know when you come to Toronto...  will try and be there!  Would also be nice to organize something for Linuxworld Toronto as well...  we had a booth last year, but it would be great if we could organize a gathering of some sort...

Eastern Canadians?  Don't let the Newfies here you call us 'Eastern Canadians' - the Atlantic Canadians reserve that title for themselves :)

If you do something in Toronto I will do my best to be there, support it, and get involved if you want help. I live about 90 minutes away from Toronto.

I guessed we missed the date here  :D  I had totally forgotten about it to be honest.

So, any other members from the GVA interested in a meet-up?  Maybe we can organize something for the Spring (when there's less chance of freaky weather)?

If it's a time I can make it I'd love to come. It would be nice to meet other Joomheads and network a bit.

Lévis Bisson and I are expecting to be in Toronto April 30-May 2. I'll have confirmation of this I expect within a couple of weeks with the details.

If this is the case, it would be a great time to organize a Joomla! gathering in the evening of one of those nights.

Anyone interested, let me know here in this thread.

I'm about 1 hour, depending on traffic and speed, to the west of Toronto in Guelph.

Question. What about combining the Joomla!Day with the "it 360" conference? Just an idea that crossed my mind :)

I'm wondering if anyone knows what type of gathering this will be?

How many people? Small and informal or larger and more structured?

Will it be promoted?

Where to have it? (other than the already discussed GTA)
