The project is hosted on joomlacode:http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jslplus
The lsl-side can be found on the getronics island in sl. As soon the ODS works on the testserver, you can get a copy from the testserver:

Very Cool GP!

I checked out your terminal in world.  I am the owner of English Village... I live in Seoul (but am Canadian).

I would very much like to be apart of this project.  I am trying to figure out how to make my SL island authenticate and register users onto my website.  Can your terminal do this?  Also, where are you keeping the code? Is it opensource? and on the forge?

way to go for jumpstarting this!!!!

hi,

yes, i renamed the project to joomlaSL. It's opensourced on joomlacode.org. The terminals are 0L$ buyobjects/copy/modify.
Currently im rewriting the lsl, so the consoles are seperated from the server in sl. Also multiple xmlrpc channels will be supported, and some kind of queuing on the joomla-side. If you like, you can join the JoomlaSL developersgroup in sl, so we can have a meeting once in a while to discuss the way joomlaSL should go.
A new release is planned for the end of this week(will be nightwork, but i'm working on it  :pop)

I created a JoomlaSL sandbox for any joomla developer who is interested in this project... come check it out at English Village! You will have to download SL first from: http://secondlife.com/community/downloads.php

And the developer resources are here: http://secondlife.com/developers/resources.php

When you are ready, you can Teleport to my island and visit one of the JoomlaSl Sandbox's: http://slurl.com/secondlife/English%20V ... 6/178/111/

Hi everyone.

As Fire said... we already have a place on SL. The call is made to all developers who want to help out there.
You all could make tests on the sandbox and share all your experiences with everyone on here on the forums and on there in SL.

Please join us.

PS: special thanks to Fire for give us a peace of land .....

awesome!  Also, Ive updated the laboratory with RSS feeds that pull information from the joomla 1.5 blog, and also our own joomlaSL blog, directly INTO second Life.

There is also a virtual whiteboard which you can cntrl-drag pictures you've uploaded incase you want to display any design docs and flowcharts while you are developing in world.

(I wanted to add a foosball table too for our developers- but couldnt find one)
Cheers

Hey, I posted on the second life forums and then came here and am looking for the Terminal that is copy/modify in SL and I cannot find it :)  Hoping maybe I can help in some way if possible.  SL is down and seems quite buggy at best but when its working its pretty darn neat.  I also managed to get an open source version of SL up and running and could connect to the server but there isn't much you can do yet.  You can raise and lower and flatten land.  You can not script.  You cannot seem to modify your appearance.  You cannot seem to do much.  You can fly and move around and you can build a few things.

http://openmetaverse.org/wiki/Main_Page - this is the server that i managed to get working and was able to connect to.
http://www.libsecondlife.org/wiki/Main_Page - this seems to be a sort of client type thing but i just used the second life viewer to connect to the server, this one has no graphics yet i don't think.

P.S. In order to get the server to work I had to compile it and build all the libraries required, individually for some reason.

Hi, I am Fire Centaur in world. I own English VIllage... go to my island: English Village, and when you arrive, my greeter robot will hand you a notecard.  IN THAT notecard, there will be an object - that is named: Joomla Terminal.  It is a  little brown box icon IN the NOTECARD.  Click on it, and it will give itself to you.  Ill also set up a box on my island that you just click to get a copy...  cheers!

Thanks for the Terminal :D  That was great!  I have yet to play with it and figure it out.  SL was acting up shortly after that.  I kept flying through walls and ground and going for miles so I just logged out.

It probably wasn't your internet in there, their servers have been going down the past couple days for some reason.  Quite annoying.  Not really sure what the deal is.  Maybe somebody just got mad at them that they can't fix their problems(like say, oh I don't know... ghost prims for example) and keeps hacking them or something.

Anyway, so today while waiting for Second Life to come back up to full speed so I could play with that terminal I decided to take a module I found on the extensions.joomla.org site and make it better.  It seemed quite bare and not very useful for much at the time.

I added the ability to add a marker for your home or whatever you want, it can add a description, an image, and a location marker to come up first as soon as you go to the page with the module published to it.  Then you can scroll around and when you click the map it will tell you the name of the location and give you the option to teleport there by clicking a link.  One click and it starts loading up SL.

I don't have it installed anywhere yet but on my local machine but I want to set up an install sometime.  The thing is I don't think it is for Joomla 1.5 yet but I don't know what it would take to convert it.  Probably not too much I'm guessing.

I attached a copy of it if you wanted to play with it.  I think it is useful for finding other sims to log into when the one youre in is down.  Too bad it cant show you which sims are down yet.  Not sure how to do that.  It seems possible to search sim names and enter values to find them on the map as well but I haven't done that yet either.  I think this could be useful in a lot of ways depending on how its used.

Ok, after days of playing with things and reading and learning about this I have come to the realization that I do not have the right server script, and in fact I should proabably have a server.  Your server Fire, has 3 layers, a Server script, and 2 db nodes, I have some script I found on facebook and it is an outdated version.  I did a google search and found a more recent version in some site pasteitin or something.  No clue how reliable that code is but it does appear to be using some sort of note care setup of which I also do not have.

Can someone post all the required lsl and updated plugin with installable database tables on there please?  That would be really really awesome :)  Not sure if anyone would see this or not but I thought I would try.  I will also post this on the forge.

Thanks again for your help!

Hi Ty2u,

Im sorry for all your troubles.

In order to make this project more clear, I have launched a website for you, and the community called http://Joomlasl.org  There I have a download section, and have placed the lsl in a text file, and added it to the zip for you.  The developer of the component for Joomla 1.5 (Phrearch Miles in Second Life and Jeroen Van Veen in real life) also added me to his project at  Joomlacode so I have admin status now there.

Jeroen and I have also been talking, and are in the process of making the code for 1.0x as well and also to be much simpler.

Currently it uses xml, we are going to base the new one on http requests.

Anyhow, please join joomlasl.org, ive set up forums, and the community is growing, so hopefully you'll get your answers answered quicker!  Cheers man!

I'm working hard to make a worthwhile first alpha release. Basically the admin backend is finished, the frontend needs some work on the profile-editing features, the interface is working(registering:direct/disabled or mail activation,sl-authentication,joomla authentication), but without sessions. The sessionthing is really high-priority. Without it there is way too much overhead in each request. I had the ODS working, but the session problem needs to be fixed first. Let me know if you can help on this:

Hi there,

For anyone interested... I made my own little one prim terminal that simply takes the users email, registers them on the Joomla site as a Joomla user and generates an automatic password and emails it to them.

Useful for people who want to allow visitors to register on their site from within Second Life.

I posted it on my SecondLifed.com site and made a manual for it. http://www.secondlifed.com/sluj-manual

It even has auto updates for the terminal!

Would be cool if I could add that to the component but I have no clue how to do this.

If anyone at all wants to test it out and let me know what bugs or issues you find that would be great =)

Thanks!

CD
