After adding new main menue items I am getting following error message when trying to excess main menue:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in C:\wamp\www\Joomla_1.0.12-Stable-Full_Package\includes\domit\xml_domit_lite_parser.php on line 135

In one of the forum replies one of the suggestions was to increase memory value in PHP. Can you help me in doing so by providing more detailed info? I recently installed WAMP 5 with PHP 5.2.2 on my computer and new to all this. Which file and where do I find it? How do I increase it ?

Thanks in advance.

Lolamk

Since there can be several php.ini files on a local server, look under php info in your backend of Joomla to find which php.ini file Joomla is referring to. Once found, then edit the php.ini file to change the memory_limit variable. Rarely needs to go above 16M or 24M

I did as instructed  according to phpinfo loaded configuration file is C:\wamp\Apache2\bin\php.ini
I found that particular php.ini file and changed existing memory limit 8M to 24M and saved the file. But when I go to phpinfo configuration core memory limit is still 8M and my main menue is still showing an error message.

You went under backend -> system -> system infor -> php info tab -> 6th line down -> Configuration File (php.ini) Path?

Now, I think I am having bigger problem. I can not access my webpage administration http://localhost/Joomla_1.0.12-Stable-F ... /index.php I am getting following message

This site is temporarily unavailable.
Please notify the System Administrator
The database adapter is not available

Did I accidentally remove or change something while trying to fix previous problem?

ok, now I can access Joomla admin panel. I reinstalled WAMP 5. Now back to first issue with main manue.

php. info tab  on 6th line --->Configuration File (php.ini) Path --> is C: /WINDOWS  should I find php.ini in this forder ?

on the 7th line -->Loaded Configuration File ---> is  C:\wamp\Apache2\bin\php.ini
When I went to "bin" I found " php configuration settings" I opened it with Notpad and there I found "memory_limit = 8M " I changed  8M to 16M and saved the file. But it did not give any results.

:D I solved the main manue problem too. According to your instructions, I found the php. ini and changed memory size to 24M but I did not restart Apache, therefore, I did not get any results. After restarting Apache everything is working fine.

Thanks for help.
