Use the admin menu to go to another manager (not sure if you have another problem).

I've got the same problem... Went into the media manager - but don't know how to get out again, because the menu doesn't work anymore. The only way seems to use the "go back"-button.

I'm using the latest svn-Version from 2. July.

Yep I Have to confirm this error.
When I enter the media manager via the menu: site->media manager then the top menu items are locked. (you can see the menu items but the menu dosn't extend)
The only way to get out. Is to hit the back button in my browser.

Using windows vista, checked with ie 7, FF, opera

Haven't checked if this problem is a known problem.

Hi,

I am unable to confirm this on the latest build 7830.

Can you provide a step-by-step how you get to the media manager, and what exactly happens then? Maybe a screenshot would help too, thanks.

@Robin,

This problem looks related with another reports about "Menus not working in Admin backend":

- http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,184265.0.html

And there was a specific report for that problem on Q&T board:

But it was considered as solved (it appears occasionally ???).

This problem does not happen on my local install.
Via the latest xampp and running windows vista all works well.

But not on my remote server.
One difference is that the folder browser isn't their either (in the media manager see image: folders don't show)
Also in the image you can see an error message (four op de pagina - error on the page)

(checked with ie 7, firefox 2, opera and enigma in each of these browsers the folder view doesn't show)

step-by-step (quite simple):

1. Go to the media manager, either via the main screen or via the Admin-Menu.
2. Then no more response when moving the mouse over the menu, nor are the "folders" visible.

> Had the thought it could have an relation with the used php-version, but no luck. Tried it with:

BTW: In the media manager, I'm able to create a new folder, but can't get out of this folder after it shows the content. Had to use the back button of my browser.

I've tried it with the nightly build of today, and all seems to work fine.
Maybe you can also test it with the nightly builds or the current svn.

I use the nightly build from the Joomla Developer Page, downloaded yesterday. To check, I downloaded today's version and there seem to be no differences in the com_media-files (no newer files). I don't know where to check the actual build-version?

Could it be the appache version 1.3.37? sadly enough I'm not in the position to change that one.

Hi Diederik,

It looks like you are using IE7.x right?

Anyone else who is using this browser that experiences the same problem?

Thanks for the PM, I'll be sure to check that out!

Yes I use IE7 and firefox 2.0.0.4, the new opera and the enigma browser. The problem exists in all these browsers.
Like mentioned before this is only a problem on my webserver, not on a local install. The local install works fine in all the above browsers.

Just to point that i have experienced again the problem of "Menus not working in Admin backend" (referred above).

My browser is Firefox/2.0.0.4 (Tested on 7869 build).

That's happens only occasionally, but it's annoying (I have experienced it never in IE 7 >:().

More info:

My problem did NOT be solved by restarting the browser. But it DID be solved by cleaning the browser cache ???.

I ran Firebug on the Media-Manager-Site and it turned out four errors:

Quote:
missing ; before statement
/includes/js/dtree/dtree.js
Line 26

Quote:
dTree is not defined
/administrator/index.php?option=com_media
Line 229

Quote:
d is not defined
/administrator/components/com_media/assets/mediamanager.js
Line 48

Quote:
d is not defined
/administrator/components/com_media/assets/mediamanager.js
Line 48

Maybe it's a help for someone who knows how to use firebug - or give me directions what to post?

Diederik, I confirmed the issue on your site (details you sent me). I noticed though that all directories are Unwritable. Just to rule out any easy stuff, could you fix that problem and give me a ping when thats done so I could have a look again?

Also confirming the 4 errors on Diederik's site, posted by MaulTrommel

Ok I'll do that but doesn't that beat the purpose of the new ftp manager build in to 1.5?

yep, the problem is still their.

I tried the suggestion of making the directories writable but that didn't change anything.
I'll send you a pm so you can check it.
