If you uploaded it to the correct folder, joomla, then the path should be http://www.yoursite.com/joomla/install.php

looks like you have something up now...

but if you haven't figured it out, you need to use the url:

http://www.bzoo.org

INSTALL.php is just an information file.

Hi cafeRG,

I just used the url as shown by Ian and I got to your site. You are running good music on your site and this means I can even get to it from Holland so it looks it is ok now.

Hi PVH

the site your now looking at Wordpress is used ..I couldnt get Joomla Beta to work or an answer on how to so i guess i'll just wait til the RC comes out.

Thanks for the comp on the music ..it keeps getting better as we add more and more live concerts and more artist.

i saw this at in my sig and dont have a clue what it means ..exactly what is an exact URL? and if I did something wrong ..instead of putting this in

"Signature Rules: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,65.0.html
Only exact URLs allowed ie not < a href="http://www.joomla.org">LOOK HERE - No tinyurls etc either, only exact, literal URLs
"

geez instead of typing all that why dont they just correct the URL ..lol..

Thanks again PVH!!

The reason is that the first url is what I would call a low level url containing itemid's etc. These id's could change depending on what happens in tge database.
Therefore is it better to use the standard (high level ) url "www.joomla.org" to go to the joomla website and than select the forum from the menu.

Thanks PVH ..for that explanation ..with due respect to the Joomla boards staff ..I think they may want to consider using "the domains Top-Level" page instead of "exact" ..to me my first thoughts of the use of "exact" here brought to mind "absolute (url)" ..which is a bit confusing.

I dont recall using any url other than http://www.bzoo.org ..grant you I have also included (now) my poetry forums sub-domain, which is not going to change anytime soon and not a tinyurl.

Also wouldnt it be just as easy and courtesy gesture, just to take out that part of an url that leads to a page other than the top level page, like so, http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,65.0.html = http://joomla.org/index.php/

I suppose the signature rule text is a copy and paste deal, but none the less it would be just as easy to adjust someones url rather than "deface" a posters signature.

I, also, suppose this may be in light of spammers, then if a Joomla staff is going to take the energy to monitor signatures as such, wouldnt it make sense to make a judgement call as whether the link in question is meant to be spam or not. however, i would say a link like http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,65.0.html may have purpose. As my direct link to my poetry boards does.

We as citizens complain about cops as being trigger happy, lets not take the wonder of the internet and become trigger happy forum police. Two wrongs (defacing) dont make a right.

No criminal intent meant here, just a member offering positive feedback.

Thanks again.

Sorry cafeRg, there has been a misunderstanding here...

There is nothing wrong with a link such as: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/board,231.0.html.  But what you can't do is have a link such as:

i.e. the idea is that the text in your url shouldn't hide where it actually goes.

Thus, your signature links should have the text of the link themselves, not descriptive text.

Thanks IanMac ..lol..well i changed them to conform but you have to admit my description of what the link is ..is much more descriptive of where the link is going to take someone than the link itself.. esp the radio link

Reference:

BZoO Radio Online : SplashHall Poetry & Art Forums

I guess a judgement call..

Thanks again..

ps.. any ETA when 1.5.x RC will be out?

Hey,

Unfortunately it is easier to work with rules rather than principles sometimes...  there is sometimes a fine line between spam and ham.

RC will be out when it is ready...  hopefully soon, but it all depends on developer availability.

You don't have permission to access /demo15 on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.37 Server at demo.joomla.org Port 80

Tried to look at the 1.5 demo on the front off this thread and this is the error code.

Cheers!
