While I appreciate the current category listings of extensions, as someone who is really intersted in 1.5. I would love see a 1.5 extensions category where only those extensions that are compatible with 1.5 are listed.  Just a suggestions, but one that would be very useful.  Thanks, Rick

Check the Advanced Search in the JED - that's one way to isolate v 1.5 extensions.

Thanks!
Amy :)

Actually, the solution is really easy.

When you click on a detail page of an extension, there are two icons to the right for 1.0 and 1.5.

Simply display those icons on the FRONT PAGE of the extensions listing, perhaps a tad smaller.

There's plenty of room to display them, and if no where else, under the extension title.

No dramatic coding or submission codes are needed.  Just add the icons to the front page of the Extensions Listings.

Herb -

How does adding those icons on the frontpage help? I'm not certain I understand.

Thanks!
Amy :)

Sorry, not the FRONT PAGE of the Extensions Directory, but the NEW EXTENSIONS page where they are listed by date.

On the right, there are icons for Component, Module, etc.

Add the 1.0 and 1.5 icons in that section so when a user clicks "New Extensions" the result is a list of extensions, as is now, but with the icons on the right displaying to distinguish 1.0.x from 1.5.

So, if I understand you correctly, you are suggesting that when looking at the New Extensions page, adding the 1.0, 1.5 icons would be helpful.

I guess I'm not certain how easy or difficult that is to do, but it would be nice, certainly. You might want to suggest that in the JED forum area.

But, bear in mind, I believe they are already working on something to better separate 1.0 and 1.5 extension listings. I think it's just a matter of time needed to get the work done. I can't remember where I say it posted, but I think I saw one of the JED folks say the work is underway.

For now, though, we can use the Advanced Search to help separate the listings.

Thanks for explaining!
Amy :)

Pssst....we do have that ready in sandbox for all lists  ;)

A few weeks of patience and it will happen.

This is great, I really appreciate the ongoing work with the new extension directory. This will make webdevelopment with joomla even easier!
