Bump...

Me and other people really care about SEO and our sites really depend from visitors from search engines, and with this bug we have double content items (diferent urls for same content) that search engines don't like at all...

Yes, this is a bug unintentionally created in attempt to fix another bug (http://developer.joomla.org/sf/go/artf1410?nav=1).
So I returned back to old correct behaviour. Please replace the attached file.

Thanks guys but we need to add some keywords to this such as:

modules showing up on all content linked from frontpage!

It took me all day to find this solution, nothing in this post is descriptive enogh, and I tried this on a whim:

modules on all pages!

frontpage modules on all pages!

-By the way though, thanks for the fix.

got to agree with gfmedia, this needs to specifically state that it solves issues with frontpage modules.

Fantastic fix though! thanks very much to zorro for pointing me over here

I installed Joomla 1.05, and turned on the SEO option, changed to .htaccess....but all the content and component links on the front page led to 404 pages.

I applied both the SEF and frontpage patch to my Joomla 1.05 installation....problem still exists.

I turned off SEO option, and at least my site is now functional....no 404 errors.

Anyone else having this issue?

Is there a fix?

Mr. Predator:

Yes, I read and installed this SEF patch, but the problem still exists; hence, I turned off SEO to get my site functional.

Is the SEF patch not working for others?

Laura

Hi everyone,

Among all the threads i have posted on this topic, this seems to be the most suitable.

I must report that this annoyance is happening on latatest Joomla 1.0.10.

Let's sum it up this way.
The title links in ALL articles have the SAME itemid at the end, regardless of their actual place in the site structure.
This results in a malformed pathway.

I have been resarching this forum thoroughly and couldn't find any solution.
