Big points, I think it's cool that the site doesn't necessarily appear to be a Joomla site when I first see it.  Of course, there is nothing wrong with looking like a bunch of other sites (especially when they are all powered by Joomla), but it is a good accomplishment to set yourself apart.

thank you for your comment! It was important to me to build an individual blog with its own special design. nothing was modified in the core. it's all about custom css, mambots and modules.

does akocomment work with joomla? i thought the development was stopped.

I don't use wordpress because I don't like it.I think you are pretty limited with it. joomla is more powerfull. joomlas framework is easy to use so you can quickly develop custom ideas.

you can find the artist and track-downloads here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pageartist.cfm?bandID=170005

Great looking site, the colors and layout are really cool! I am still learning css and web design in general. I have done quite a bit of reading about css and joomla. Do you have any suggestions as far as css design articles or tutorials? Do you use photoshop or some other program to layout and make graphics for your sites first? what programs do you use to make your sites, I really like the style of faulancer.de

Keep up the good work!

thank you StylinAR!

to your questions:
sorry, I don't have any links to tutorials. just learning by doing ;-)
for my projects I use pspad (freeware editor - the best one) and paintshop pro for the grafics.
photoshop is to expensive. also I don't need ALL the functions. I think gimp would also fit my needs.

greets...

Nice site Arcy,

I'd love to know what module you are using for your subnavigation calendar :)

I think that I will release the mambot with a few others I made (play flv videos, hide-on-show, etc.) . I just want to finish my comment-content-mambot.

Der layout sieht ein bischen ungewöhlich aus doch ich finde es toll, die fotos sind auch gut bearbeitet.
