This post will have a collection of known issues with Joomla 1.0.8,  issues which affect a lot of people will be posted. This post is locked and sticky, it will be updated when a new issue is found. The discussion thread is located here: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic ... #msg224952.

Please note that these fixes may be overwritten/fixed in new versions of Joomla, they are in no way official yet. It's just a service to the benefit of all. I thank all people for providing me with the information that can be used for helping other people.

There are problems with mosCE with Joomla 1.0.8. A thread about this can be found here.

There will be a new version of mosCE called JCE really soon, probably in the first week of march. Please read this comment by the mosCE/JCE developer.

You can try out this possible solution posted by a helpful member: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic ... #msg226102

You need to ensure that both the Section and Category of content items are correctly published and have proper access settings. Joomla 1.0.8 corrects problems where a Section might be unpublished but its content items would still be visible.

RSS feeds can give the following message after updating to Joomla 1.0.8:

Code:
"You are not authorized to view this resource. You need to login."

As of Joomla 1.0.8 you must have the syndication module published: mod_rssfeed (in Modules --> Site Modules)

Otherwise in Admin Backend go to: Components -> Syndication

and set: Security Check = No

When using IIS, the redirection after logging in/logging out is wrong, the site will start looking for something like http://www.mysite.com/https://www.mysite.com -> 404 - File not. A solution can be found here.

Code:
Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: ftphostaccnt in /hsphere/local/home/xxxx/xxxx.xx/administrator/components/com_media/admin.media.php on line 60

A fix for this can be found here.

There could be a problem with RSS feeds when upgrading to Joomla 1.0.8. Joomla 1.0.8 adds additional checks for the /cache directory. A better explanations can be found here: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic ... #msg238871
