Click on the following link to support the idea of writing the Joomla! logo in Arabic Calligraphy way
http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,5151.0.html.
Warning: By the current sketch I am not pretending to contest for Joomla! Logo winner! I am just exposing ideas that could inspire talenteous drowers to present a meaningful logo reflecting what is Joomla! project really is.

Rationales:
The image of diver written by Joomla! letters is impacting due to the inspirations it induces:
  • The environment the  less known on the earth are profound oceans. They are to discover. They comprises unvaluable richnesses.
  • Opening
  • depth
  • richness
  • innovation
  • ...
All of these could be expressed by the diver.
diver shares many meanings with "discovrer". The idea is something that express all of these meanings and I think that a diver (when it is well drown by Joomla Letters) could express them.

Another inspiration ressource for writing Joomla!, is the magnificient Arabic calligraphy (some examples attached)!
Why Arabic Calligraphy? For a simple reason: The phonetic "Joomla" in Arabic language means: Phrase/ sentence= words alltogether to make a sense. Joomla is the phrase/ sentence, the elementary part of the Open Source Project Book!!!

PS: Someone could think also in cosmonaute, a discovrer of spaces.... But the image of diver is nearer to the mind, since the ocean could be best imaginated than spaces that humans do not know alot about them and they even do not know if they hide good or bad surprises... In fact, we know that our worst surpise will come from spaces ;-)

What I would like to add here for the Rationale, is:
An Arabic word, written by latin letters, using the Arabic calligraphy would represent an other very meaningful political dimension, that is the exchange and association (scientifically meaning) between the two most -currently, in the past and especially in the future- disputing civilisations (Islam and Capitalism) to lead the world!
Joomla! written in that way would express the continueous scientific exchange.
