JoomlaDay UK is an annual (I hope) event driven by, and for the UK Joomla community. The event includes a range of speakers and other attractions, with a unique atmosphere.

Speakers
Barrie North - How to make a template
Phil Taylor - Custom development - extending joomla the easy way
Vince Wooll - Jomres (Joomla Residents) - take bookings for, and run, your hotel website.
Brian Teeman - LAFonline.org - Case study of using Joomla in a non-profit organisation
Johan Janssens - Joomla 1.5 - Sneak preview of whats coming from the Lead Developer
Panel Debate - Joomla - Where is it going and when will it take over the world
Chris Adams - Hosting Joomla.org - What its like hosting one of the busiest servers in the world
Igor Dutra - Joomla and Porsche Brazil
...subject to change plus more to be announced

IMPORTANT
Numbers are limited at the venue (and I need to know how many to cater for) so please book at http://www.joomlatraining.org.uk/joomla-day if you plan to attend.

Why Leeds?
It is the geographic centre of the UK with excellent road, rail and air links. (And I live there)

Accomodation?
Leeds has an large range of hotel accommodation including all the major chains.

Saturday Night?
If you are arriving on the saturday night, or just live locally, let us know and we will arrange a pre-day, post-day meal and drink venue

Can I help?
Yes please. Any help greatly appreciated. If you want to speak or make a presentation or just want to be a gofer on the day just let me know.

Parking?
As with any city centre venue, there is not a free car park but there is a wide variety of on-street, off-road and multi-storey car parks available in easy walking distance.

Can't attend?
Dont worry the whole day will be videotaped for broadcast online at a later date

T-Shirt?
We will be producing an exclusive "I was at Joomla! Day UK" t-shirt. Designs welcome.

Brian,

This looks like an awesome event!  Wish I wasn't in the western US while this was going on.

Definitely let us know how things progress.

Brian,

good luck with this..

wish I could be there, but it is my son's birthday and I don't think he'd appreciate it!

Leeds is just a bit far for a day trip from Glasgow..

Not sure if you've thought about this, but If it helps I'd be happy to offer a licence for UHP2 as a raffle prize or something..and possibly a discount for attendees..

Cheers

John

Too bad, would've loved to attend but cheapest flights I found is 340 euros, return leaving mid-day (or I'd have a night in London!), plus hotel.. a bit much. Maybe next time, sounds like a great program you got there and I really would've liked to meet all of you. Have fun!

It was good to catch up with a lot of people last year at LinuxWorld in London so I would like to be able to make this event. I am not sure if it will work or not though... I will let you know if I am coming soon.

I am away on business in the US from the middle to near the end of July so will only be back in the UK for a couple of days before this kicks off. Certainly from the north though Leeds isn't the easiest place to get to. British Airways don't for example fly there (last time I checked) and a train would involve multiple changes.

Sounds like a great idea though Brian. Well done! :)

I am very tempted to make this trip... if I came I would probably arrive the Saturday evening and depart Sunday evening. It looks like I could probably fly BMI from EDI - LBA. Dinner on the Saturday evening sounds good as well if others were up for that.

Brian, when is the latest I can let you know about this without causing you an inconvenience?
