Quick step by step....

1 - Go into the backend and take the site offline
2 - download and extract the zipped upgrade package locally to your computer
3 - FTP the files to your server overwriting the existing files and if asked maintain the folder structure.
4 - Go into Backend and put the site ONLINE
5 - Test the site for errors and if none move onto the next site.

5B - If you come across any errors it's usually a bad overwrite or bad transfer so retransfer the files that seem to have the problem. If you can't tell which then go back to step 1 until the errors go away.

5C - If 5B still doesn't fix the problems then search the forum for any compatability issues between the new version and the extentions you are running

Before you do any of this, make sure to back up your site completely. If things go badly, you should be able to go back to where you were before.

I may have been misleading - do I have to upload individual files or can I upload whole files in 1 go?
