I've installed my language in my site. Still page source shows

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en-gb" lang="en-gb" dir="ltr" >

Could you pls help me?

Go in Language manager and set Your language as default on site (star them) :)

Dear friend, it's already done .

I've checked the language files (including xml). The XML contains my language tag "bn-BD".. yet site showing..

Check your config file, it may have written permits locked. Or may be your template, It may have a wrong header.

Another possibility is that you are watching a page that's in your cache, or in your isp's proxies cache.

Which version of Joomla are you using?
If it is a 2.5.x one, is it parametered as a multilanguage site?

I have tested this in 2.5.7 and based on the Default Site Language, the values of xml:lang and lang accordingly.
