Gaelic - anyone?
I am trying to find someone to make a Gaelic translation of 1.0.15 front end. Apart from special editors are there any other tools available?
If anyone passing understands Gaelic and interested in getting involved just say hi!

Hi FrankA3,
Not sure if its Gaelic content translation or actually the frontend core translation you need in Gaelic.
In case its a frontend language package, then you could have a look at the Irish/Gaelic here:
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/irish/frs/
That file ga-IE 1.0.13.zip will work just fine for 1.0.15

Re: Gaelic - anyone?
Both but want to start with core front-end, then Joomfish the rest of the navigation... content itself would be a rather a challenge as it is growing fast. I have feelers out in the Gaelic (Scottish) community, so hoping to get a volunteer or two. I need to work out what tools and things are useful and get those into place for when I find someone.
I would upset people if I used the Irish Gaelic, there are significant differences but it could be useful as a starting point as there are a lot of identical words.

Hi FrankA3
How have you got on with a gaelic language for the frontend? I am also interested in this.
Any update would be really valuable
Thanks

Re: Gaelic - anyone?
Hi FrankA3,
Sorry to hear that. I can understand how difficult it is to have a good translation. Hopefully we will have it soon in Irish with the help of a professional translator. But it took a lot of initiative, good news and bad news. Finding volunteers is hard, and translating strings from a software is not fun obviously. And our "surviving Celtic languages" had nothing to compare with native languages that are used primarily by a large community!!
Anyway, keep the faith, and all the Best!

And FrankA3 why not joining in their team then, to help them keeping the translation up-to-date?
(me pushing?? ... ok +1 ;-)
You just need to post here to request to join, isnt'it correct Jean-Marie?

Good to hear! Would love to help but don't ken the language myself or I would have dome it myself! I just have a Scottish community and thought it might be popular.
