no Persian(Farsi) Translation for Joomla

hi

Joomla doesn't have any persian Translation now
The official team which is introduced by Joomla is not working anymore. The last version they translated into Farsi/Persian was 1.5.18
Their website is down for about 2 months: joomfa.org
They have just put "under construction" sign all this time.

Please help us be updated by Joomla. There are thousands of Iranian (Persian) users for joomla but there's no update joomla in our language and we have lots of websites running with this CMS.

Thanks

1.5.18 is OK as there were no language changes since.

Concerning 1.6, please contact Mostafa http://forum.joomla.org/memberlist.php? ... le&u=59896

I know his team is working on it.

thanks for your reply.

but there's no translation for 1.6

also the support forum is closed.
I hope they will be back soon as Joomla! really needs support and quick updates as it is so popular between Persian web developers.

Iran Translator Group (ITG) is ready to translate Joomla CMS for Iranian users free of charge, if we get the English source and Joomla agreement to add Farsi pack for Joomla.
Furthermore, We are ready to translate Joomla website into Persian (Farsi).

Unfortunately Joomfa is gone and you still make us wait for them.
I dont know the reason but it's better to take a look at their website and support forum:

joomfa.org
forum.joomfa.org

It's good but I think it should be checked.
I will go deep into your version and post the result here.

I hope this will be a solution to my problem....

Folks,

We have many volunteers now to make a Farsi lang pack for 1.6

Until now, NONE of the ones I saw were fully 1.6 compliant.

Or only partly translated, or missing the 1.6 way to get Jalali calendar correctly in the pack, or missing files that should be common to site and admin.

I will be back to my desk in a few days and test the last one I received from omid jamalvatan.

We may have to gather all volunteers and ask you folks to get organized and present us a real full 1.6 Farsi pack.

sounds good, we are working on Joomla! since 2005 and most of the users in Iran are using our packages.
I'm glad to inform you that Joomla 1.5.23 Farsi was released by us. it was downloaded and used by Iranian users for more than 230000 times from joomlacode.org.

I will be really happy to have the result of your investigation.

@mambolearn

You are proposing a distribution of Joomla including Farsi, NOT a fully installable 1.6 Farsi lang pack with the correct implementation of fa-IR.localise.php (fundamental functions missing) and the js folder installed where should.

Many strings are untranslated and the structure of your fa-IR folders are plain wrong.

I based my comments on the 1.6.3 distrib available on joomlafarsi.

FYI: The translation Team Coordination has no issue registering a different Team for 1.6 than the one we have for 1.5.x, as long as the the packs are OK and they accept/implement fully the Translation Policy:

Dear infograf768,

I made a deep review on both distributions of Joomla 1.6 released by "omid jamalvatan" and "mambolearn".

The one released by mambolearn is really done professionally and without mistakes. They have even translated the Jalali calendar and all the strings and also the RTLed forntend and backend templates.
As they said the 1.6.3 which they have released recently is really stable and clean so I recommend all Farsi/Persian users to use their package.

I think they are more deserved to be the official translator for joomla.

Folks

There is NO "Official" translator, but "registered" Translation Teams.
All the packs I had received until now were filled with errors.

I am now checking the last corrected packs I got and we will soon have a complete Persian pack.

This pack is not only uncompletely translated, but also breaks the OSM copyright.
Please change headers to fit the Translation Policy or take offline.

A fully compliant pack will be soon proposed to all.

Thanks, but, as I promessed, we have now a fully compliant pack for Farsi/Persian.

See http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jtrans ... ge_id=5676

ref: http://community.joomla.org/translation ... tions.html

Please refer to the Coordinator to work together on next packs or improve the available one.

Note: your fa-IR.joomla_lib.ini is still uncompletely translated.
Also, please do not cross post. The other topic was deleted.

Thanks infograf768 for the review
I translated fa-IR.joomla_lib.ini again.
I think I should develop other extensions like Component in both farsi and english language.
