Sorry this content is not available in your selected language.

Post by nwm » Wed Oct 26, 2005 8:29 am

Hello

I am trying out multi languages on trial site.

Using Joomla 1.0.3, Mambelfish 1.5 (2005-3-16) and bot published on this forum. All seems to work with downloaded languages - French and Spanish. Have language module on Frontpage and switching languages displays headings , log in etc in correct language.
I  have written a bit of static content to test system, all this displays is item title, author, date and then "Sorry this content is not available in your selected language." Same message appears when I switch to other languages ( message in English as well as the chosen languge)
When I unpublish bot the content is displayed OK
Is this me or the bot causing this problem, should I change core files as published in the forum? Don't want to if I can avoid it

Thanks in advance

Hi

have now tried the patches by walb as per this:-

The mbf.patch.zip contains the patched index.php and index2.php from the Joomla root.
You have to rename the contained files from index.mbf.php to index.php and index2.mbf.php to index2.php etc

This seems to work but in the content display (content not yet translated to French) I get "Aucune publication afficher"
and in "  Whos on line"  I get "Il y a actuellement 1 invit en ligne".

Any reason for these odd characters, nothing appears to be wrong in the Spanish. I will reinstall the French package but is this a known problem

Any comments?

Maybe you should check in the backend the MBF language configuration settings at the tab frontend.

Check : no translation is available?
And set it to: The original content

The bot has nothing to do with this since it only initializes MBF as it happens in the patched files.
