Product's descriptions not translated in Vmart + Jfish?
Hi all,
I'm using Joomfish to translate a Vmart based store. Everything goes really fine with the bi-lingual
translation, but ONLY the product's details are always shown in the unique language that they're
entered (english)...
So, does anyway know how to have multiple product's descriptions for each language? I know
it is possible because some Vmart stores are doing it, example:
http://www.podfloor.it/joomla/index.php ... 26&lang=en
the italian and english options actually translates the description too!! How can i do it?
Thanks in advance!

I had the same question myself today and eventhough the guide in this thread tells how this is done I had some difficulties in understanding it 100%. Now that I solved the problem, my solution might help you to. There is another guide and the funny thing is that I think its written by the same person but this one I understood: http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option= ... ic=18894.0
HOpe it helps

Re: Multilanguage Guide for VirtueMart - CVS upload?
Hi everyone.
First of all i should say sorry for asking something that probabilly has been said already in this topic, but 12 pages are really too many to understand at once!
I just installed for the really first time Joomla+!fish+virtue.
Folloing the installation instruction, i managed to do everything i needed, which was : create a product in english, and then have its translation in chinese.
NOW:
i am gonna have 1000 products, even if I didnt try it yet, i can read there is a CVS uploading tool for catalogue, which will let me manage large number of products easily.
BUT what about their translation ? after i am done uploading 1000 products using CVS, am i supposed to translate each description by hand?
isnt it any way to have the translation in the same CVS?
thanks

Experimental code.
Install the ZIP as a component, during the installation it will give error that one file could not be copied. This error is planned, so don't worry. By installing this component, now you should be able to translate VirtueMart with Joom!Fish.
Report any problems.

Re: Multilanguage Guide for VirtueMart
Hello Ivo!
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I already made website using Joomla 1.0.11.
Need to solve the problem urgently. For 3 weeks I'm trying to solve problem with search system.
Still no result
My website uses utf8_unicode_ci. And in the website I can search words with only latin letters.
and cannot search words with russian and chinese letters.
I tryed to activate mb_string in php, but no result.
What is the problem.
Joomla 1.5 makes searching very nice in any language, but unfortunately now I can't use this.
Please, any suggestions appreciated.
Best regards, setisfiction

Re: Multilanguage Guide for VirtueMart
Hi Ivo,
I have installed joomfish at it works very good.
I have some questions:
1) How can I translate the shipping methods? I can not see them in the JOOM!FISH translation menu.
2) When i try to translate the Shop Information, I can not publish it. Is it a well known bug?
Thank for your help
vedig

Re: Multilanguage Guide for VirtueMart
So let me just confirm, you have six categories and the problem appears, when you try to translate them.
You can delete the file: translationVm_categoryFilter.php but in this way the category filter will not appear, when viewing products and categories

Re: Multilanguage Guide for VirtueMart
I think, i've found the problem :
there where no "english.php" file in the folder administrator/components/com_virtuemart/languages
I put the file from original virtuemart package and it works !!
