This is no good.
Could you try to edit the XML file vm_store_info.xml in the folder administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements
on row 12 there is:
Terms of service
make it to become:
Terms of service
and check what will happen now

Did it. Only difference is that now the wysisyg-editor shows in the translation page. It still refuses to show Published and it still does not show on the site.

Re: Multilanguage Guide for VirtueMart (Last Update 17 April 2007)
Something was wrong with the dutch language file.ivo.apostolov wrote: Could you PM me access to your backend. I think something messed up with the two languages with the same ISO.
What is the encoding of the dutch language file for Joomla!, the dutch language file for VirtueMart and the database collation?
In the first line before <php? there where three strange signs.
This is a virtuemart language file error.
The only way to delete this was using joomlaxplorer.
as standard PHP editors do not see these signs.
Once you said it should be a language error in one off the files it struck me.
This was an error I had for some while, and due to the small impact slipped my mind.
I did a new search and found there was a thread about it, and how to delete (using joomlaxplorer component)
Now all works fine. Just so you know!

OK, it is more or less a MS [censored]. MS programs (some of them including standard notepad) save the files in UTF as UTF with BOM.
You need to save them as UTF without BOM (what you did with JexPlorer).
In future for UTF staff use Notepad++

Hi
thank you Mr ivo. for the procedure,
I was doing the steps but I got stuck in step 4
when I try to upload the french language, i see it uploading then it disappears (as if it is deleted)
I think the main problem is the 755
Could you please advice me how to change 755 to 777 so that it stays 777
thanks

the language folder is not 777, and even if i change it to 777 it goes back to 7554. Add the VirtueMart Translations you are going to use in administrator/components/com_virtuemart/languages

It really depends in the server, so better ask your hosting provider.

Re: Multilanguage Guide for VirtueMart (Last Update 17 April 2007)
I've just worked through your guide a second time and this time I followed it TO THE LETTER and it worked :-)
You NEVER say anything about installing the VirtueMart Language Manager and so I didn't install it this time...
So there must be a conflict there between JoomFish and the Language Manager.
To all still having problems try uninstalling the language manager.
To ivo - many thanks | muchos gracias | etc | etc pull down and select the one you like ;-)

Hi Ivo,
I followed exactly all the steps of your post and I go to the joom!fish translation dropdown menu and it doesn´t appear any item related with virtuemart.
I have installed Joomla_spanish_1.0.12, VirtueMart 1.0.10 and Joom!fish 1.7 (last two I downloaded them straight from your links)
Thanks in advance,
Oier

Exactly?
Install this as a component and take a look if it allows you to translate now:

Yes, I already did it. But it doesn´t work. That's what I thought it was strange. Those files are the ones they appear in the dropdown menu of joomfish.

Re: Multilanguage Guide for VirtueMart (Last Update 17 April 2007)
I've used this guide to set up Joomla with VirtueMart and Joom!Fish, but I have one question: when I change the language for the site I do it by using a link that changes $_GET["lang"] to "en", "sv" or "es" and then all original Joomla pages changes the language, but not the Virtue Mart pages? How do I change the language for the VM pages? Please help!
Edit: I seem to have the same problem as vedig on page 3. I can't publish my VM-translations. I'm going to change the XML that was suggested, but shouldn't there be an easier way? My menu's also in the wrong language, but on the original Joomla pages it's right.. Can somebody help me?

Hi Ivo,
Must be something I am doing wrong cause I have followed the steps again but this time with an original version of Joomla and I am still having the same problem. Nothing appears in my joomfish dropdown menu.
Can be something on the server? I am using localhost with MAMP and maybe the php configuration or who knows...

More possible is to be related with the XML parsing? But, what is going on? Can you post a screenshot

And when you are on the page of Screenshot1, there is no option to translate virtuemart? in the content elements? WOW, try to find if the file permissions are the same of all files in the content elements directory.

I have no idea, I just don't have experience with Mac.
I am lost ... no idea what could be the reason. Do you have similar problems with other components?
