@doctorlife

Thanks for the offer, and I will. Working right now on all the screenshots so that I will use less text, which makes it later easier to translate the guide into different languages. As the saying goes, "A picture says more than a thousand words". Thanks again for the inspiration.

Not only for guide...
I noted this thnking to a Multilanguage portal, and this is more true thinking on internet, and this is been the Windows succes...

So, what I think is that a Multilalanguage portal have to use more images are possible and minus words are possible... this is been also the success of differents arts on history: been able to communicate trought images ... no depending from differents languages ...

I think this is the true objective of a multilanguage work  ;)
(be carefull on what people like and had success in last yers: windows, sms, emotions etc.)

Hi again Alexhokamp,

about VirtueMart: on developer site I found this file I add (is too light). I'm looking, I think is to manage language file.
Have you seen it yet ?
have you tried ?

@Alexhokamp = have you tested it ? (take a look on a previous post attachment)

PS I tried the joomlaboard 1.1.2 integration in local and it seem to work well

Have it up and running on Joomla 1.0.7, no problems at all. I updated my Joomla installation from 1.0.4 to 1.0.7 with the Patch you can download from Joomla.org and I also made a new installation of a Joomla 1.0.7. In both cases the MambelFish works fine.

If you need the MambelFish Pack with all the Patches for the different Joomla versions just download it from my site:

http://www.mytestground.com/cms/index.p ... 26&lang=en

Actually, if you installed it from the pack I have on my site, all you have to do is replace the includes/joomla.php of you installation with the patched one from my pack. If you already have a normal Mambelfish installation, you also have to replace the administrator/components/com_mambelfish/mambelfish.class.php file with the one from my pack.

@doctorlife

I had no problems with upgrading to Joomla 1.0.7. I made a complete Mambelfish Pack on my Website which can be used for Joomla.

http://www.mytestground.com/cms/index.p ... 26&lang=en

Everything needed to make Mambelfish work with Joomla is in there. Further, I have not encountered any problems with VirtueMart so far. Runs fine.

The language files is an issue. I could not find any for example in German, so what I did was using the Language files for Joomla 1.0.4, and adding

Code:
// Site page note found
define( '_404', 'We\'re sorry but the page you requested could not be found.' );
define( '_404_RTS', 'Return to site' );

to it. So far it works and I have not encountered any problems. Seems like that are the only additions/Changes to the language files.

Further, you only have to use the one login module for everything. The VirtueMart needs of course a little more information about the user, but it will requested the information once the user makes some purchase.

This almost works perfectly. The issues are:

  1.) User needs to go 2 different places to edit profile info (one for CB, one for VM)
  2.) User can still register within VM which will not create the account in CB

There is some work being done to achieve CB <-> VM integration here:
  • http://www.joomlapolis.com/component/option,com_joomlaboard/Itemid,38/func,view/catid,20/id,1475/
  • http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=71&topic=15046.0

The first problem above can be solved by creating a VM plugin for the CB profile to edit/display the billing/shipping details from VM. This should be pretty easy. The second problem above can be solved by including the CB registration in VM. This would likely come in the form of a hack to VM.

Hi gsbe,

I have posted in that topics and, as there, I suggest:

why don't link all these topics in a new specific topic here on joomla ? ...  ;)

Not exactly.

All is prepared in Core for Joomfish not to need any hack to work OK.
Joomfish will be provided separately.
