I think I read somewhere that a 'joomla' in ancient hobbit language means a horribly shaped hideous to look at object thrown by Orcs at fleeing hobbits.

Well.... only joking!  But it does have an Orcish feel to it?

Actually, isn't it amazing that the word resonates in so many languages?  Quite amazing.

Ted Hughes, the poet, wrote a new language for one of Peter Brooks plays and when they toured it through the world, they found he had accidentally used words from loads of other languages without realising it?

I wonder if whoever invented Joomla realised it has so many resonances in other languages which are so apt?

great stuff

If you look at the history of my country
the jame Joomla or jumlah (Bahasa Indonesia) could very well come from the original swahlli
this will take a long post :)
basicaly
the arabian take the word of Joomla as Jumla, later the Arabian immigrant come to my country and the word Jumla evolve to Jumlah

I'm not a historian, so dont trust my word. But that would be a good guess  :)

I'm sorry but I have to disagree...

From everything I've been seeing Joomla is only seen in 1/4 of the world.. Africa, Middle East, and South East Asia.. all of which have strong ties to each other historically.. The rest of Asia, Europe, and the America's is left in the dark.
