How to migrate Joomla to another server?
I have 3 web sites with Joomla.
I want to migrate them to another 3 web sites (at a different server company but also with Linux system).
I don´t know how to do that. I think I have to copy my files in my FTP acount to the others acounts and then backup my database, but HOW?
I need help so I can continue working with my sites.
They are

Thanks

Hi,
A FAQ about how to move a site is posted here; http://help.joomla.org/component/option ... temid,268/
That ought to help you out.

You might need to set the pathes in the configuration.php file.

Re: How to migrate Joomla to another server?
I will recommend you if your a newbie like me, just use JoomlaPack.... Joomlapack turns a ZIP of your whole website. Then make sure you make a backup of your DB. Then you move that ZIP to your new server. Make a database prior to this like you normally do and load back up the Database backup you just did.
Joomlapack has a file called Kickstart (which consist of a file called Kickstart.php) Kickstart will unzip your ZIP file and make it so like if you did what you just did by copying it over manually.
Run kickstart.php and the Zip file where you want it, and then run the install. and Wallah.

Re: How to migrate Joomla to another server?
I can also recommend JoomlaPack along with Kickstart from the same company. Be sure to fill in your FTP details in kickstart when unzipping...this avoids a lot of file permission problems.
When you are thinking of moving a Joomla 1.1x site, you should also consider if it's not perhaps a good time to rather migrate your site to the current and supported 1.5.x branch of Joomla? Check the extension directory and help site for tools to help with this.
