Hi!

I just created a simple win Delphi for simplifying the creation of basic component or module "frameworks".

It parses and corrects the necessary source files, and creates the resulting zip. The functionality (right now very restricted, for example no DB involved at all!) can be extended by rewriting the source files.

You can find it here: www.korakademin.se/JoomlaUtilities/JoomlaCompModCreator.zip.

Hopefully, someone find it useful!

Regards / Jonas

Jonas,

thanks for this, works nicely.. can think of a few enhancements if you are going to develop it further..

1. Allow entry of name, email address, description etc for xml file.
2. textual substitution in all source files(not sure if this is done already
3. menu creation based on case statement
4. selection of source directory to allow simple project's(i.e. you copy your skeleton files into source dir and it generates xml file etc
5. option to just generate xml file only - for the lazy amongst us..
6. option to specify a file of sql statments to be inserted in xml file or optionally in com_install file.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

John

Thanx, John!

Very good suggestions, of course!

I'm a comp/mod newbee myself, and this utility is what I need right now. Unfortunately i don't have time right now to take it further.

The source is free if someone's interrested!

if anyones interested I've a add on to mosforms that allows you to create components from specified mosform tables.

This deals with the creation of all the files (admin & front end) as well as connections to database tables and the correct xml to create those tables on install.

To use it you would create a set of mosform tables. Then on the "create component page" you'd select those tables enter some data about the component and mosforms goes and does the rest.

Its not for general release as its got some bugs in it, but I'll mail to to anyone intrested

Cheers
Robb
