I am using the 'Hot Property' extension but but I don't think this request is specific to the extension.

Is it possible to create a page/view in joomla that outputs data (in this case properties from a agent) as an XML file?

I would like to enhance it by plotting properties onto a flash interactive map. The flash file will need to pull in property details from an XML file.

Which Joomla version do you have?

Thank ooffick.

That is very helpful on how the xml can be called.

In theory could I then take a back-up of an existing 'property list page' and change it to out put in an XML format?

That depends what you are looking for?
If you just want to wrap the HTML content with that page you should be able to do that.
Do you use Joomla 1.5?

Sorry. It for a future project so the version isn't decided yet - although I believe 'hot property' is stable on 1.0.

Im not sure I understand. I would like to end up with a flash file in a page. The flash file pulls in data from the joomla database in XML format. So I also need a 'dynamic page' that when called retrieves data and renders it as XML that my flash file can call.

Well, the whole thing might be more difficult in Joomla 1.0. In Joomla 1.5 you should be able to add some XML template and then get Flash to read those information. But that depends on the content itself as well.

Moreover, please note that Joomla! 1.0 end of life is coming up soon, so I would strongly recommend to use Joomla! 1.5:
