テスト環境に入れてみましたが、
http://{siteurl}//index.php
のように、"//"となってしまいました。

また、フロントエンドからのlogin/logoutの度に、index.phpが見つからないといってエラーが出力され、その後logoin/logoff状態になります。。。
hummmmm....

私の環境だけでしょうか？

同じ環境で、1.0.1をインストールしてみたところ問題ないので、
1.0.2の問題だと思われます。

Joomla!1.0.1JPを"Joomla_1.0.1_to1.0.2-Stable-Patch_Package"にて上書きしましたが、特に上記のような問題は発生しませんでした。

環境は
(外部レンタルサーバー)

• Red Hat Linux
• Apache 1.3.33
• PHP 4.3.10 
• MySQL 4.0.23

新規にインストールする際に、問題が発生するようです。
自宅のテスト環境と、レンタルサーバーの複数箇所で確認しました。

1.0.1からのアップデート版では問題が出ませんでした。

新規にインストールする際は、1.0.2は使わない方が良いと思います。
1.0.1の新規インストール後に、1.0.2へのupdateファイルを送り込むことが望ましいです。

1.0.2では、デフォルトのEnglish languageファイルが、UTF-8で作成されているようです。
しかし、feedcreator.class.phpが対応していないので、相変わらずRSSフィードがiso-8859-xで出力されており、日本語が文字化けします。


見た目では、デフォルトのテンプレートデザインが変わっていますね。

新規に、joomla! 1.0.2 をインストールしてみました。
私の環境では、何の問題もありません。

インストーラーの問題がでるパターンが分かったような気がします。

Qasimさんの成功した新規インストール方法は、

のような場合ではないでしょうか？

先程別な環境で、http://yoursite.url/  で新規インストールしてみました。
確かにその通りで、http://yoursite.url//index.php になります。

ご指摘のように、http://yoursite.url/newjoomla では正常にインストールできます。
