I posted this question over in the forum hosted at the Fireboard site a couple of weeks ago but never received a response.  I wonder if anyone here might have an answer.  Here is my question:

I build sites which include audiences who have physical disabilities. These audiences include folks with visual impairments. One of the main attractions of SMF is that it generally meets Internet accessibility requirements (W3C, Section 508, etc.). To what extent does Fireboard meet these requirements? Would it be a good choice for my audiences?

The best thing I can suggest is that you fire up a test site with it and have your users test it to see if it works for them.  A lot of sites say they are W3C, Section 508, etc. compliant, but when actually used, fail the true usability test. 

Yes, that's a good idea.  I was just wondering if anybody had any kind of accessibility experience with it.  The authors don't seem to be willing to say anything either way.

Right now I use Joomla, SMF, and a bridge.  It seems to work ok; but an upgrade in Joomla, SMF, or Community Builder (anther component used on one of my sites) often causes my site to crash until the bridge is also updated.  One of the promises of Fireboard seems to be closer integration with Joomla and no need for a bridge.  But I can't use it if it drives my screen reader users crazy.

It is difficult to get a site's different components to all work together nicely and work with accessible devices.  I wish I had more info for you, but testing really is the best way.
