Left if out on purpose..thought that the name should speak for itself. The exclamation mark always seemed amateurish to me.

But the exclamation mark is one of the rules of entry.

I'm sorry but a graphic design company shouldn't do that... Is that what you're gonna tell Yahoo!, too, when they want a new logo from you? Or what if someone told you the @-sign in your company's name/logo was "amateurish"?

I see that I have upset some people but think about it this way...this is a contest where we give our ideas on what we think the logo should look like and as per the rules, it is stated that the core design team can and most probably will change some aspect of that logo...so if they think it to be important, I could ad the mark or they could do it themselves.

Whatever, dude, I'd still never hire you because of that comment.
Anyways, I'm not criticizing your work and I'm not saying Joomla! shouldn't use one of your logos.

I'm glad that eveyone has their own feelings about the logo and its' negation of the exclamation mark.  The point was not to upset anyone but bring forth a different look from the previous logos I have looked at, so please DO NOT take it to heart, and if I upset anyone, you now know where I'm coming from...thanks for the comments.  :)

I just have to say one more thing... You didn't "bring forth a different look from the previous logos" you called the exclamation point "amateurish". Not too professional... Again, is that what you'd tell Yahoo!, too?

Ok, tutankhamen let me explain something, Yahoo! is spelled the way it is for a reson, and it's purely marketing.  The work "Yahoo" is word of exclamation that is why it was fitting to have the mark.  I did not put it on my versions because the word did not envoke that emotion...it is that simple...let it go.

You called it amateurish, admit it.
I wouldn't be such a pain in the a** if you weren't here to represent a graphic design company. You simply can't call your client's name amateurish. Period.
