Hello
Just post the pack here for it to be tested.
Please read translation Policy
http://community.joomla.org/translation ... olicy.html
and typical file headers
http://community.joomla.org/translation ... aders.html
to make sure all is OK.

As soon as you have made the installation language pack (admin can wait a bit if you are too busy), please let me know and we can get you in the Translation Teams.
Regards

Thank you for your reply. Your reply encouraged me. :)
This is not word to word translation, I have kept some english words without translation to assamese, as there are no alt assamese word for some words, for example, server, host, etc. anyway I have translated the whole site section of version 1.15.12
I am putting site part here for testing, see the attachment.
I am working in admin part also, I will try to complete ASAP.
thanking you

regards

      <rtl>0</rtl>
      <locale>as_IN.utf8, as_IN.UTF-8, as_IN</locale>

Sorry for late reply, I was busy .

Sir you have
replaced
Code:
<locale>as_IN.utf8, as_IN.UTF-8, as_IN, eng_GB, as, অসমীয়া, assamese-in, in, ind, অসম, ভাৰত, ভাৰতবর্ষ, অসমদেশ, কামৰূপ, প্রাগয্যোতিষপুৰ</locale>
with
Code:
<locale>as_IN.utf8, as_IN.UTF-8, as_IN</locale>

that is not needed ?
and what is "pdfFontName" .... please tell me , and also I have repacked the .xml file according to you and posted here...
( I am working in the admin part also )

The locale are (or rather, were) related to Server date settings in various languages.
We do not use them any more in 1.5 since 1.5.2.
Anyhow, these locales would never have been in non-ascii.
Just adding the ones I proposed is Ok.

The <pdfFontName> states the pdf font to use when printing pdf with the language.
As far as I know, we do not have any pdf font for Assamese.
http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/pdffonts15/frs/

Default is freesans, as I wrote above.

<winCodePage>iso-8859-1</winCodePage> is wrong
I wrote above that it should be utf8

This specifies the encoding of the language in older Windows OS. It could not have been ISO.
(Anyhow, this parameter was only used when migrating a 1.0 site to 1.5 and using Joomfish.)

I suggest you just copy/paste the xml I posted above as I see also that the copyright date is incorrect in your last pack.

You may want to add a as-IN.ignore.php file in your pack to specify what small words the Joomla search would ignore.

We could add Assamese already to the Translation Teams if you first provide the Installation files.
Admin files can come a bit later.
