So does this mean that vBulletin could be installed in a subdomain (ie Joomla in domain.com, and vB in forums.domain.com), provided that the file install.vbridge.php gets the proper path added?  Looks like it needs a relative path to be added to the array?

If you use outside....  means the relative path.

Where you put the forum or Joomla ( URL ) doesn't matter, only besure you have the same cookiedomain ( this is important ).

Hey, I almost have the bridge installed but, I am on a fresh install of 1.03 and ready to overwrite joomla files with the files that come in the upload folder of the joomla_vbridge_vb3.5_1.1_final release but are these files from the 1.03 release so overwriting them wont cause problems.

I did the same already...as a result, the vbridge doesn't work as it should. I suspect it is due it being only for 1.02 at this time.  Pred said he'd have a 1.03 completed soon (see a few posts back).

For anyone else struggling with this thing, can we take it that these assumptions are correct?:

1. VBridge doesn't yet work with joomla 1.0.3
2. VBridge doesn't work with Community Builder

This isn't a criticism... I just think it's worth telling people this kind of thing in advance to save them time and unnecessary frustration.  :)

Hmm - does this mean that we ca't upgrade our Joomla installs -- that we're really at the "mercy" of the hacked files?

WIth Predator now part of the CDT, maybe this will get fixed?

Hmmm....mine doesn't.  I followed the instructions to a "T" I thought...have both a fresh install of 1.03 and vb3.5.  No dice.

I can't log in to VBulletin at all using any username....yet I can log into the admin panel...

I can't log in on my Mambo mainpage also.

Nice!!!

Mark, this is a vbridge issue or a vbulletin issue??

Nobody answered my question in vbulletin.com 3.5.0 troubleshooting forum 2 days now....

The solution above seems to work tho!

The datastore has changed from 3.5 RC3 to the final. To build the statistic the datastore now has 4 values. Is fixed now and working, will be in the release in a few days.

Hey all,

I'm trying to install the vbridge with Vbulletin 3.50 Gold, yet it seems that the Patchhandler won't allow it as it detects the incorrect version of VB.  This package was one I downloaded today, is there an updated version that I'm just not finding?

Thanks,

Keith

Hi, I am a little confused here. I have vB3.5 Gold & have downloaded Jamoola v1.0.3
Will your current Bridge work or should I wait for the next release ?

Also, when I install the vBridge module from within Jamoola, I get the config.php error, eventhough it's chmodded 777, so I assume that it's because I have Vbulletin in http://www.mydomain.com & Jamoola in http://www.mydomain.com/jamoola
Does that mean that I have to change the path in install.vbridge.php, from /includes/config.php to the full path instead & zip it again ?

Thanks,
bpn

Better wait 2 days, new version is finished and mostly all known issues are fixed ( have to check with the list i have ), will only add a instruction to it, this was also a weakness in the past.

So the new Version works much more smoother than before, i also optimized the plugin code. Release will be announced.

Thank you so much  :)
Does that mean I don't have to edit the path in the install file, or whatever went wrong with the config.php error, with the current setup I have, with Jamoola in it's own folder ?

Most issue if you use vB outside the Joomla! folder is the permissions. In the next Version i have added an extra check in the backend of the vbridge means if you got an error for the permission of the config.php of vB during installtion, the vBridge checkes  if you have added all needed values to the vBridge configuration again if you go to the installation Tab if the file can be patched, until here if it is not possible you have to add the needed lines maual to the config.php of vB.

Sorry if this has already been answered, yet can the vbridge run VB on forums.xxx.com if the site is at http://www.xxx.com?

Yes in unwrapped mode you can even use a different domain, only absolute path must be on the same path ;)

Lock this thread ?  There is good information "buried" in here.  Part of the reason for getting vBridge a home was this thread was too LONG !

:) Just an idea.

Yes you're right the Thread is still growing ;) I will close the Thread, we have enough place in our own Forum.
