There is a problem with the hack and Joomlaboard.  When I click on a post to read it I get:

An invalid post id was requested.

With Advanced URLs the link looks like this: http://www.mysite.com/component/option, ... ,2/id,1#1/ and I get the error message.

With Simple URLs the link looks exactly the same: http://www.mysite.com/component/option, ... ,2/id,1#1/ but it works as it should.

Any ideas or solutions?

Will check this, thank sfor the hint.

Hi, I have a question.

If my site is already fully indexed by the search engines, and I use the sef core hacks, will all the links in the search engines resolve to the new sef urls?

Thanks

If your site is fully indexed with the normal urls like

http://localhost/j103/index.php?option= ... 7&Itemid=2

they are compatible and will be resolved even if your new URLs look like

http://localhost/j103/The_News/Latest_N ... tem_2.html

If you site is indexed with the "normal" SEF like:

http://localhost/j103/content/view/7/2/

It will NOT resolved.

Thanks for the reply  :)

Unfortunately for me then I cannot use this hack as my site is indexed using normal sef, a shame as the urls from this hack look really good.  I guess I could possibly run the risk of losing google page rank as well?

Hi Predator, so with the next release of the core hack will my normal sef url links in the search engines resolve to the *super*sef urls of your hack?

Thanks

CoreSEF Hack for Joomla 1.0.3

As discussed in this thread: http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,427.0.html i'm pleased to announce the Release of an Core Hack to give you extended SEF URLS without using a component for it.

The Hack also supports the sef_ext.php files for SEF Advance.

Demo:  http://www.joomladeveloping.org/

Beware this is a Corehack and not an official Core Addon.

Just overwrite the files in your Joomla 1.0.3 installation with the files contained in the zip folder, go to your Global Configuration and change the needed values. This only works if the "normal" Coresef" has worked before.

I'm still getting that same error with Advanced SEF URLs in Joomlaboard, both in the Lastest 5 Posts module and in the forum itself.

An invalid post id was requested.
\n

Any ideas on that one, Mark?  Or is there a way to exclude certain components that have trouble with SEF?

Hello,

It would be really great if there was a way to manually specify redirections: for instance, I would like to be able to get rid of the http://www.mysite.com/blogsection/section/category/article.html part.

I don't know if the current version of the hack has to maintain a table with the redirections associations but I guess what I'm asking for will. Can it be a performance issue, as stated by the various discussions about advanced SEF solutions not included in the core yet ?

Regards,
Gregory.

Thanks very much for this hack predator, it works great!  One thing I did notice though is that it doesn't work with contacts XTD.

You will actually probably have to go into the code of some of the component/modules and change the links manually as some of the authors did not include sef enabled links.

Sef links will look something like this:

sorry if i didn't make myself clear.

what i'm saying is i uploaded the hack and configured it, however i'm having some issues accessing my page. my website is a directory, therefore i'm using the bookmarks component. but when i click on a category to view the bookmarks, it only refreshes back to the hompage. also, i can't click on my newsflash content.

i'm using joomla 1.03, and i'm sure i downloaded the correct hack for that version...

maybe i did something wrong, but i'd love to use this hack instead of a third party component. just can't get it to work...

I have this problem on two of my sites. Your hack rocks except I can't use my forums after I install it.
