External link causes XML error

External link causes XML error

Tested on unmodified 1.5.23.

Created a new external link with this URL:

Code: Select all

/cart/index.php?app=ecom&ns=catshow&ref=uniforms
Causes this error on the frontend:
XML Parsing Error at 1:187. Error 4: not well-formed (invalid token)

If the link points to an external website, the URL should start with http://...

No, it's a perfectly valid URL and Joomla is fine with it. It's just a relative URL. For example, /cart/index.php works just fine as an external menu item.

[EDIT] Okay so adding the domain does work.

So the actual bug is that relative URLs in external menu item with ampersand breaks the menu.
