Why for god sake, I wanted to migrate today and now I cant!

Hi,

My old installation consisted of J!1.0.15 and CB1.1 with a few custom fields. I prepared the new site with J!1.5.3 and CB1.1 (in legacy Mode) before applying the mtwMigrator. All data came through smoothly but for the custom fields. Next I moved the comprofiler tables through SQL imports from the old to the new database. Was very happy to see the user data (including custom fields) showup when I logged in as an admin from the frontend. However, I realised that other users, old and new, were denied access from the frontend. The error message is:
Your registration process is not yet complete! Please check again your email for further instructions that have just been resent. If you don't find the email, check your spam-box. Make sure that your email account options are not set to immediately delete spam. If that was the case, just try logging in again to receive a new instructions email.
Any clue how I can overcome this?

Thanks.

I am trying to load the migration script in the 1.5 install and it says I need PHP iconv installed. I checked and it is installed and enabled.
What can I do now?
PHP version 5.1.2
Apache 1.3
OS X 10.4.6

I just started Joomla, I'm not sure if I have the latest version. I just use the installation provided in the cPanel. If it's not, hopefully this can help. Haven't been backreading, as I'm checking if mine got the latest or not, hopefully it is to save some hassles.

Yo can check what version your joomla is by logging in to your admin panel
The stable one I had used for one of my company website was using Joomla 1.7
