Re: AHHHHHHH.... cant make new user accounts!!
Drop jos_users table (be sure jos_users_backup exists)
RENAME TABLE jos_users_backup TO jos_users
If you need more help check out the PHPbb forums
RENAME TABLE jos_users_backup TO jos_users

As of Joomla 1.1. what you want will be possible. FOr versions before that, users will have to register through phpbb.

Just note that once you drop the current jos_users table and then you recover the table you had in jos_users_backup - you won't be able to use the component anymore.

Re: AHHHHHHH.... cant make new user accounts!!
My problem is similar to the one under discussion - but different I think...
Here's the situation...
I have made a fresh install of Joomla (which I chose because I had this identical problem with Mamba).
Everything installed perfectly! I can do anything the docs say can be done. The problem is - when someone tries to register as a New User it accepts their info and then - nothing. It is not in the MySQL database...no email sent...nothing to indicate they ever registered.
I need a good CMS for a couple of projects I have going. I have been working on my own projedct and am NOT unfamiliar with PHP, etc.
I run Apache2 on my own server. My php is 5.0, my MySQL is 4.0..
If the admins can solve this problem I will make a $40 donation to the Joomla/Mamba project (it is all I can afford).
The web site it located at http://www.wmgh.org/joomla
THANKS!!!

Re: AHHHHHHH.... cant make new user accounts!!
ok similiar problem here!
Joomla 1.09
CB 1.0 stable
phpbb_component_1.2.4RC5
i get the same error as displayed in the screen in the first post when i try to register a new user via CB login module/joomla login or even manually via admin interface
registering with phpbb login module works fine.. but:
new users arent recognized by CB at all.. they have no profile or anything.. which is what you can expect cause phpbb_component doesnt know CB..
all i need is a way to integrate a phpbb forum within the joomla page..
as far as i know using phpbb connector for CB the forum is external so that it isnt displayed in the main frame of the joomla page properly..
any solutions? i heard about a hacked login module but couldnt find it..
thanks in advance
