Integration Joomla <-> Phpbb2 by Przemo
This integration is for probably the best modification of popular forum phpbb2 (from this site http://www.przemo.org/ ). This modification is based on phpBB 2.0.X script, it contains about 300 add-ons, with ability to switch off any of them in admin's panel.
Bridge is still released as beta as I will continue to work on it. All main features of it work on my localhost but more testing is needed to check it with different server configurations.
Present features of integration:
- all users aspects are integrated: registration, login, adding new users, deleting users, editing users
- the is no option to run forum in component mode, only stand alone
- required settings (predefined in JoomlaPE)
Same database
Find out more here:

This bridge is also included into Joomla Power Edition project www.pe.joomlapl.com

The phpbb2 by przemo 1.12.5 (from site http://www.przemo.org/phpBB2/index.php) referred to, exists only in Polish...
How about English or other languages ? (e.g. Portuguese?)
Should we download the Polish and then try to find translations? (does it work this way?)

Re: Integration Joomla <-> Phpbb2 by Przemo
We tried to install the Polish version of the phpBB indicated, but joomla always timed-out giving this error:
Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\blah\blah\joomla\includes\joomla.php on line 2445
We even tried uploading the zip file on the server and 'installing from directoy' but we got the same error!
Anyone faced the same problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

@bramvera I'm sorry, link I gave was direct to the file in remository, and it seems it sometimes doesnt work this way, so I have correted it to target dowload page, it is in poslih but you should find where to cliclk to download sorry for trouble, I will try ti set up project at forge in coming days
@Aristotelis thats right, there is only one installation of Przemo, but it has english language in it, sadly there is no defalut data in it so all deafault contetn is in polish, but everything else is in english.
Could explain how have you triad to install Przemo to get this error? As this script should be installed separately from Joomla, just standart installation, only you have to install it in subfolder "forum" to your Joomla instalation
Let me know if you manage to run it:)

Re: Integration Joomla <-> Phpbb2 by Przemo
Hello Stone and thanks for the reply. It was really helpful.
We followed the steps and performed the installation. We have a few questions:
- All new users are also added to phpBB (we noticed). What about existing users? how can they be added? and their passwords?
- How are we going to include the forums in our joomla site? It does not appear as a component... how are we going to merge it nicely? How are we going to create the link to them?
- We noticed that there was a patch for some basic joomla files and an extra column in the jos_users table, does that mean that we are now depended to the przemo version and releases? Do we always need to check with przemo before we install any new component? Can we install future upgrades of joomla safely?
Any answer to any of the questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Re: Integration Joomla <-> Phpbb2 by Przemo
I think we have a problem.
We have community builder component installed.
After installing the przemo patch, we can not login in the portal anymore... (after typing username and password and pressing submit we end up in a blank (white) page with the following url: "/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=login").
Any idea?

Re: Integration Joomla <-> Phpbb2 by Przemo
Community builder is a component that changes way users are handle by joomla, which makes this bridge impossible to work, I'm not planning at this moment integration fo CB as I want first to create stable bridge for standart Joomla, when this will be acomplished then wll be the time for nex features. I'm sorry but it seems you will have to search for another solution if you are using CB.

If you have CB -- check out joomlapolis. There's a perfect bridge plugin for community builder already out there!

hello,
I have joomla power edition 1.08 installed with the przemo forum 1.2.5 and stone bridge
it works at 80% i think
there 's a login issue
when you log from phpbb your logged in both but if you log from joomla it works 50 %
*If your logged in both then the joomla session ended your always logged in phpbb
=>>sessions arenot synch
if you log out from phpbb your out from both
if you have this system installed PLZ feed back

Yes you can keep all yur users, but there is one condition. This bridge is only for this modyfied version of phpbb - http://www.przemo.org and i wont work with any other version of phpbb

Re: Integration Joomla <-> Phpbb2 by Przemo
ok well i can access all the features in my admin controls now, but none of them work because there are no sql tables in the phpmyadmin.
The directions say
index.php
update17-18.php
update17-18.sql
update_phpBB_to_18_by_Przemo.php
update_phpBB_to_18_by_Przemo_mysql.
update17-18.php gives me this message which i cannot read
I am totally lost.
The directions say
The problem is, there is no file that just says /update.php. There is:First step is to change database. update17-18.php
update17-18.sql
update_phpBB_to_18_by_Przemo.php
update_phpBB_to_18_by_Przemo_mysql.
update17-18.php gives me this message which i cannot read
and the update_phpBB_to_18_by_Przemo.php gives me a page cannot be found error.Zla lokalizacja pliku ! Przed uzyciem ktoregokolwiek z tych skryptow upewnij sie ze znajduje sie on w glownym katalogu forum !

Re: Integration Joomla <-> Phpbb2 by Przemo
Hi there, I have downloaded this forum
1. it has sub forum that I need
2. it has the integrations to joomla.
I got it installed just like it should be done. All good to go. But when I click on the link to forum this is what I got.
The page you are trying to access does not exist.
Please select a page from the main menu.
Help cause we would love to have phpbb to our site and I love the sub forum.
