I have a site that is Joomla 1.0 and has a PHBBB3 Forum Integrated with JFusion.

The problem is, I had someone help me do this integration a year ago, and due to thier own personal difficulties, they were unable to finish teaching me how to configure it, much less anything else...

My forum is in need of a security update among other things and I have absolutely no idea how they actually got this to install and integrate on the site much less how to install the security update.

I know nothing about Joomla as this is my first time even using it and I have read most of the guides and I am still left completely clueless..

Any simply spoken instruction or guidance in this matter is much appreciated...

If you are using JFusion you are most likely using Joomla 1.5 (JFusion does not work with Joomla 1.0).

you can download the latest Joomla package from:
http://www.joomla.org/download.html

if you have not got any "Joomla core hacks", in other words components that make hack to Joomla core files. You can download the latest complete Joomla package and unzip over the top of your Joomla install. If you have core hacks you will need to unzip each of the Joomla patch files.

Upgrading phpbb3 is best asked on the phpbb3 forums

Upgrading JFusion can be done by installing the latest package (no uninstall needed of jFusion).

ALWAYS make a backup before upgrading softwares, escpecially if you are unsure what you are doing. If your files get corrupted for some reason, you must have a backup ready to bring your site back up and running.
