Re-install problem

Having installed the latest version of phpbb bridge (1.2.4rc6) i clicked on the menu link I created and i came up with an error - I then thought I would instead install the version before (one which i have used before) so I uninstalled rc6 - during the rc5 install when its trying to add the database, i get the following error:

DB function failed with error number 1050
Table 'jos_age_users_backup' already exists SQL=ALTER TABLE `jos_age_users` RENAME `jos_age_users_backup`

ALTER TABLE `jos_age_users` RENAME `jos_age_users_backup`

any ideas how to sort this? i really dont want to have to reinstall the whole joomla database

Don't know anything about the bridge you mention... but to fix the error you have...

go into phpMyadmin or other MySQL tool and rename the current 'jos_age_users_backup' table to 'jos_age_users_backup1'

then reinstall and it should not have a problem... only other possible issue is if the bridge partially installed and is using the directory... then use a tool like JoomlaXplorer and manually delete the files and directory for that bridge... then reinstall is needed

yeh i tried that...i eventually just deleted/uninstalled and started again
