If you go to the plugin manager and edit the plugin, the description text is showing unformatted and with the the html tags.

Hi
I have resolved the untranslated description within the authentication Joomla! plugin due to an errant ' in the string...was this what you were referring to?

I don't think so.

I go to extensions, plugin manager.
Select a plugin and click edit.
Description test shows the tags.

I'm not seeing this, and the screenshot is too small for me to see in detail.  Are all plugins having this problem?

With language debugging enabled, I'm seeing either full translations ( bullets ) or attempted translations ( question marks ).  The language files for the plugins are being loaded.

I'm using Rev 8531.

It's happening with most of them. I don't know if they all have tags, so it is hard to know why some look okay, but all the ones with long descriptions don't render.

The pagebreak plugin has the code showing by design in order that people know the code format to expect otherwise all they would see are a number of horizontal lines in the description.

Having just checked all 31 standard installed plugins those that have had HTML encoding added to them generally just ... to highlight something are displaying as intended.

The only plugin that has a long description is the pagebreak.

So even more uncertain to what you refer

Andy
EDIT Elin perhaps email me some screenshots full size if that helps

Yup and pagebreak has that problem.

Will email you the screen shot.

I think the other problematic ones are all extensions.

Just checked all 42 Modules and none of them have incorrect HTML displaying either,

Rechecked content_pagebreak plugin and there is nothing appearing that should not be.

Checked in both FF and IE7

Quickly tested and does indeed look obsolete. Moving to resolved.
