Hello

Our company owns 2 commercial extensions that were published on JED almost a week ago (Listing 20371 and 4197).
Yesterday one of them was unpublished because of UR9-Violation License restrictions and today also the 2nd extension was unpublished for the same reason.

In our modest opinion, we believe that we're not applying any license restriction/violation.
If JED staff disagree, it would be very helpful to point out which line of text or paragraph in our terms violates your terms so we will have the chance to look over it again and amend it.
We are here to work with you and are absolutely available to fix whatever is needed... but somebody should give us more details.

Please help.

Normally i would say enter a support ticket after signing in with your dev account , that might help get you the answer.

That's exactly what we did almost immediately in the early morning of yesterday as soon as we received the email warning.
But still no response, this morning we were in hope to find some answers on the ticket but on the other hand we found a bad susprise of the 2nd suspension and once again without any detail or explanation.
Personally I've also tried to contact JED staff via email but still no answers from anybody.

We'd just like to know exactly WHAT are they complaining about so that we can fix it...
as I said we tried to follow JED recommendations and we double checked that everything that was committed to JED was absolutely GPL, we still don't know WHY somebody think we are applying any restrictions.

We are just looking forward for some answers...

Please help us!

I think you must by now be aware that the jed no longer respond to support requests by emails, seldom in the forums (they tell you to submit a ticket) the correct place is the forums.

Also the volunteers work a reasonable turn around time for tickets, if the next jed editor is not the one who dealt with your violation, then they will have to read up on it.
this may takes hours/days/time zones and not minutes like some would expect.

Mandville I thank you for your fast reply and I perfectly understand that JED staff has other priorities however being commercial extensions I hope you understand this is quite a damage for us.
I perfectly understand that if something is wrong or not compliant then it must be unpublished and fixed and we're here for that however we're desperately looking for somebody who could just tell us exactly WHAT :-(

commercial and non commercial are treated the same - neither has priority.
I am sure that when a jed editor gets to your ticket, they will chase and sort out the issues.
off top of my head, things like this are where you quote gpl but then your t&c say it can be re distributed freely etc.

I see, well thanks anyway at least you're answering us which is already MUCH appreciated.
Maybe you can be so polite to have a quick look at our website and our ToS and help us find out what's so bad in our case.

Our Terms of Service: http://rapidplugins.com/terms-service

The very strange thing we don't understand is that a few weeks ago JED staff successfully accepted our listings without problems after quite a long approval period, so we supposed everything was fine, and it has been fine and published for almost a week...then how come they suddenly change their mind?

Thanks

i am afraid i go back to my previous response, and i am not answering on behalf of the jed, await response from the jed ticket system which is the procedure for everyone.

As a fellow developer, I've looked through your ToS and I don't see anything there that's against JED's policies, it's all very standard.

Looks like you're just going to have to wait for an editor to get back to you :(

It has been resolved yesterday, thanks.

But there has been a lack of explanation or details as to why our extensions were approved and published a week ago, then for some reason one of the JED editor decided to unpublished it a week after claiming it violated the JED terms? we are just waiting for a reply. Hopefully, this is some misunderstanding we can avoid in near future.

In the ticket you placed, you mentioned that you changed some verbiage on your terms. I didn't see the original verbiage, but it seems whatever you changed did the trick. When an editor processes a listing for inclusion, they review many points. From time to time, we miss something and a community member reports it. In terms of Licensing Restrictions, one simple word that is wrong in your terms/license can cause your listing to get that error.

I cannot tell you what the issue was specifically as there is no way to know now, but I'm glad your listings got republished.

In terms of response time for tickets, expecting a response the same day is unreasonable and not likely to ever happen. There are nearly 10,000 listings in the JED and each case is different that we respond to - this means it takes time (time that is freely given by a group of dedicated volunteers.) In the future, if you do only as the unpublish notice email states (open a ticket) and refrain from sending the team emails trying to make the process go faster, you'll likely get a reply to your ticket faster. The reason for this: It takes double the time to review and respond to emails and tickets.
