Uses Updater

Hi everyone,

I have a small question. When submitting an extension, there is a checkbox, Uses Updater?
Is here meant:

1. the extension supports updating without previous uninstall using the regular Joomla installer
or
2. implements the Joomla update system, using the update server.

Which of these two cases is meant under Jed submission form?

That would be 2. having a built in update functionality using joomla update system.
