Why is the RSS feed going nuts?

I added the feed for new extensions
http://feeds.joomla.org/JoomlaExtensions
to my Thunderbird but it keeps pulling the same items over and over and over again. If I leave Thunderbird open, by the end of the day I end up with hundreds of JoompBox, bretteleben.de CSS Gallery, JoomlaPraise AccessLevelModule, and a few others. It seems like it's any new one that comes in, just keeps coming and coming, non stop. Does anyone else have this problem?

Anyone? I use Thunderbird for my RSS reader and I added both the New extensions and updated extensions feeds and they just keep coming and coming and coming every few mins. Same ones over and over again, and new ones start to duplicate too. Does anyone else use Thunderbird and experience this? It didn't use to happen before the re-design of the JED page,,,,

Have you tried this in another feed reader, like Google Reader?

I haven't tried it in another feed reader. I don't like Google Reader, but I do like Thunderbird I have other feeds in Thunderbird and they are not experiencing this problem; just the ones from the JED site.

What Feed url are you using?

BTW I suggested you try Google Reader to test if it's Thunderbird or a problem with the feed itself. Surely you think it is reasonable to ask you to perform a few troubleshooting tips before we look further into this? We're all volunteers you know.

PS please take a look at the rules and adjust your signature accordingly.

http://feeds.joomla.org/JoomlaExtensions is the URL I'm using for the new extensions. It's the one on the JED page so it should be right? I tried it in Google Reader and it seems to be ok. It's strange though because it used to be fine in thunderbird too before the page changed to a new design.. Was the feed changed as well?

The feed address was not changed.. the original feed was though.

Anyone else having these issues? Can anyone else test this in Thunderbird for us on another machine?

hi again. Well I backed up all the stuff in my feeds and completely wiped out all feed info and files in thunderbird so it was like starting fresh. Added the extensions feed and it pulled the items. Then I deleted the ones I didn't want to keep and a min later, they all came back again. It's really strange and I can't figure out why it's happening.

No issues here with mail.app (OS X).
