Hi Guys,
i have submitted about over 3 weeks 2 plugins and a module and wait now on the publishing.
When i check the queue, i read since days this:
Quote:
Your extension is currently in queue awaiting review and approval by JED editors.
There are a total of 38 extensions to go through before we review your extension for approval.

It seems to me, that the progress go not on... :(

It helps if people would follow the submission process guidelines. I find myself spending a lot of time emailing people. If I spent one day approving extensions I end up spending the next couple days go through the ones that people "fix" after we email them.

That being side, I'm personally short on time on some weeks but I should be going back almost full force in a week or so.

Sure, i think this is a problem and i understand it. But permanently, perhaps it is better to make the team (for extensions check) greater? It is a little frustratingly.

By the way, i think i have all points from the guidelines fulfiles.

In my occasion writes that there are 135 extensions to go through before mine.

What disappoints me is that it writes the same thing for more than 2 weeks.

Is this normal ?

Yes, this is normal, it's a free resource, run by volunteers.

Do you think if we charged for listing to help pay the people who spend so much time approving them, everyone would be happy? Would you pay for a listing on JED if the approval times were lower?

Brad my message was not critical about the JED team.
I just wanted to ask because in the past the time for approving an extension was much less.

I am also volunteer uploading my projects for free, writing to forums etc.

But also something could be done to speed up the procedure. Don't you think?
I think that a lot of people are willing to join that team

It's not that easy.. and takes many weeks to "train" someone.. and even then.. we have no guarantee they can devote even a regular amount of time. Are you offering to help?

Perhaps you could tell us more about yourself then, and your background, websites, components, as well as how much time you can devote to this task.. and why you want to help out. Feel free to email this to the editors (perhaps your first challenge could be finding their email address ). :)

Sure we could make the team greater, we still have to train people and training isn't an overnight thing. That's why just adding more people won't magically speed things up.

Extension approval is a small small part of what we deal with. If we increased the team size, I'd direct their resources to other parts of the JED.

PS. I'm out from doing anything on the JED site until Thursday. Then from then on I'll spend as much time as I have approving.
