I don't know if we're the only ones getting the sensation that the JED team is working against us, the developers, instead of collaborating with us.. We have no right to say anything, or to point out issues, because we're either ignored or punished for trying to say what we think it's not right..

I personally live with fear each time I have an interaction with the JED team, because someone there will certainly yell at me if I try to get my answers as we all expect.

I know.. you'll tell us that you are volunteers and that you have a lot of work to do, and I respect that.. but the JED has become the most important resource for the Joomla! community, and we must have a professional service for the over 9000 developers that contribute.

And if you cannot supply that service at the level of professionalism that it must have, what about charging us, the commercial developers for that?

My company would be more than happy to pay for the commercial extensions that we have listed if that guarantees us that someone on the other end will answer my doubts and requests in a decent period of time.

All this started with us trying to publish a new extension, called RSEvents!Pro (built from scratch, so a totally different project than RSEvents!).

The first thing that we did was to request the JED team to unpublish RSEvents! since it was discontinued. The JED team was very responsive, and they unpublished our extension in 24h or so.

The second step, was to create a new listing called RSEvents!Pro. Our extension got in queue, but.. surprise.. you cannot have a new extension in the same category if they are both commercial. You have to use the old listing. But the old listing has reviews that refer to things that have absolutely nothing to do with the new project.. how can I use that ?... what will an user say when he's reading the reviews of others that refer to a totally different project??

Of course we asked that to the JED team, and after 3 weeks the ignore policy has been applied to us.. We even opened a new support ticket, that also has been ignored..

And of course, now I fear that their reaction will be... stop bugging us or we'll ban you... we'll solve your issue when we want to.. like has happened before..

There is nothing against publishing a new commercial entry as long the previous one (commercial) has been unpublished.
There is something lost in translation here!

Thanks, please explain that to Matt L. who argumented that we MUST keep the old extension no matter what. I can show you the whole conversation in the support tickets we have on this issue.

And that is exactly what happened, as you can see here:

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... ement/8209

the extension has now the reviews of RSEvens!, that have absolutely nothing to do with the new project..
