Joomla! Discussion Forums

Is there a mailing list for announcing new releases of Joomla?  I have several major projects underway using Joomla and I really would like to be updated ASAP when new versions come out.  Also, what about extensions?  Is there a centralized email list for announcing extension updates or does each extension author provide this at their discretion?

If you go to the Announcements section of the Forums, there is a "Notify" button just above and to the right of the posts.

Click there and you should receive notifications of Announcements, including when new versions come out.

You can also subscribe to individual forums, such as the security forum, by selecting the Notify button toward the top of the forum.  You will receive emails when new topics are created in the forum.

Would be nice if there was a dedicated security email list though

Perhaps one that has a direct "subscribe to this security list alert" button in the admin backend
