I am getting this error message right now. It came out of nowhere, what might cause this?

Was there an upgrade of php on the server?

J1.0 went EOL many years ago and is not compatible with php 5.3 and higher.

You have to migrate to a newer version of Joomla.

so how do I migrate this so it can work with a newer version?

You have to take it in steps 1.0->1.5->2.5/3.1

Ah! I see now there is a problem as I cannot access the admin of the site either
