is there a component for j1?
i would really want there to be one

There are several commercial ones in this group http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/search/1/block%20ip/

its all for J1.5
i have 1.0

As I said, several of these work on both 1.0.x and 1.5.x

Do you know which ones?
they all say J1.5
thus i assumed that i cant use them for J1

You actually have to open up the listing to read the full description to see whether they are for both 1.0.x and 1.5.x

i thought that each component tells you right there if they work for J1 or J1.5 or both

did something change? the last time i look at extensions thats how it was
