I've been reading through this forum and reading all the related documents and it seems that I need the openSEF patch (http://help.joomla.org/component/option ... temid,268/). I've clicked the link (http://projects.j-prosolution.com/proje ... ensef.html) and according to the address bar that is where I end up but it appears to be a home page. I cannot see a link to a patch there and doing a search for openSEF gives me a page of advertising.

I really don't want to uninstall this extension because it took me a long time to find it and operate it ;)
Does anyone have a working link or the patch they can email me? Better still can anyone find it at the above link?

Thanks

There is a "rescue" of the popular OpenSEF component which has since been abandoned by its developers.
The current version is an exact copy of the latest OpenSEF release:
NuSEF

Thanks. I found all that yesterday. Never saw hide nor hair of it during my searching for an open SEF download a couple of weeks ago though. It doesn't seem to be of any help though as there is no nuSEF download let alone a patch and from what I can gather it is the exact same version as I have 2.0.0-RC5.

???  Does anyone else use this component? Does anyone know what the security issue is? What might be a good, free, alternative?

I seem to have found more info about this whole issue here http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,77301.0.html where it says that you only need the patch if you didn't download the last patched version of openSEF 2.0.0-RC5. Apparently there is an OpenSEF 2.0.0-RC5_SP2 from the 25th Sept 06. Best of all I have SP2  ;D  Not sure why I didn't find the above thread yesterday when I searched before starting this post so apologies for asking what had been done before.

http://forum.joomla.org/index.php?topic ... .msg868307
