Was wondering what the largest site is that somone has used Joomla for.  Would like to know what others opinions are on how robost it is ..given it's installed on a well configured server and running on Linux vs. Windows.

Thanks for any input any out there could provide that have operated a Joomla site before..

Well, one of the largest is Joomla.org - around 500 Alexa rank

one of mine (bagsofcrap.com) can reach as high as 10,000 Alexa rank (around 150 req/sec) durring certain sales events (I see around 85,000 visitors, over 4 million page views, and somwhere around 50 million requests in 48 hours)...  All on a single VPS with 1.5 gig Ram... (those numbers are bandwidth limited)...

Redhat enterprise 4 (RHEL4 AS).  Running Lighttpd, php5 (FastCGI), MySQL 4.1...

My new server (hopefully online by the end of this week) will be running CentOS 5 (same as RHEL5), lighttpd, php5, MySQL 5, etc...

That is great!

But when I when to see it for my self, I received a "Time Out" error - oops!

What is the server's config.?

Where do we learn about how to optimize a Joomla install in terms of"
OS version
CPUs
RAM
Disk

What are the 3 biggest factors in a Joomla's configuration? Both in Joomla, mySQL, Hardware?

Thanks a bunch.

Peace & Joy,
