Joomla Help

Post by drewrob » Tue Sep 04, 2012 1:39 am

Hi
I am new to Joomla and have been helping 2 companies with their website built with Joomla 1.0 - I have been learning as I go on how to make changes to the websites and have done a pretty good job at it, but recently both sites have either an error code line or blank front page - I Googled it and it seems there is an issue with the new php file upgrade???? and it is conflicting with the outdated version of Joomla - Is this the case?
I looked at the error log for one and it had a PHP warning with a "failed to open stream: Permission denied" on the index page - How hard/easy is it to upgrade to a current version?

The error seemed to come about when I made modifcations to the site - Nothing major, just added a picture to one and some text to the other - After that, both home pages in the center went black - The content can still be seen in the joomla admin section, just not on the live site

Any help/advice would be great
thanks!

Joomla 1.0 does not work well with PHP 5.3 as it uses old code that is not compatible with PHP 5.3.

You could try modifying some files, see https://www.google.com/search?q=joomla+1.0+php+5.3+fix
Or upgrade your Joomla version to the most recent one.
