When I try to access your site, I get a "Domain not found", with the www. and without, I find it as you have described..

I then tried with index.php and found the same

Each time the site was very slow to respond.

Is the index.php file present in your root directory?

My guess is that it is, but it has errors... upload a new index.php from a standard install and you should be right, I would think

I was having this issue today. I followed some of the posts in the forum and went through the steps of disabling all modules and plug-ins. Site came up. Turned on a few at a time and checked. Narrowed the issue down to the plug-in: System-SEF

Just kept this disabled the site works fine. I read in a post about the System-SEF solution but didn't know where to find it until I narrowed it down myself. It is a Plug-in. Not even sure what it does.

Good luck with your issues. This stuff frustrates the heck out of me but I am so happy when I can get on here and find a solution. I encourage everyone to keep contributing when you find issues and solutions.

Thanks to all
