I'm very new to Joomla and have been assisgned to work on the site recently.

Recently over a month, the joomla site that we have created cache files right below the web folder. Apparently all of them have been under "apache" as an owner. I also try to delete them but it hasn't been very succeful. My developers connect to the site from dreamweaver and whenever they try to do the update, it took hours to edit/update, what I believe may have to do with synching all the cache files back and forth between server and the developer machines.

Could you please help me explain or where to look for reference on:
-how "apache" is wring/creating all the cache file on the folder and where to change the path/settings
-how to stop or control "apache" from creating those cache files
-how can we delete all those current cache files.

Thank you all for your help. I have been looking and reading all ove the net but can't seem to find an exact answer.

@phothet
Cache helps your user to access the information faster that already available in cache,
so it's advisable to enable it.
Now to answer some of your question.

1. I don’t also have exact idea on how Cache made by apache but If am right the cache is made by some plugin, module or extension.
2. To Stop - Got to you Plugin Manager and disable System - Cache
3. To Clean - Go to Tools clean cache or Purge Expired Cache

Regards

Hi Aris,

Thanks for the tips. I will check with the settings on those modules and plugins settings to see if there's anything strange going on.
