ok to start with i got my own dedicated server the specs are...

pentium 4 3.0Ghz
1024mb RAM
80GB HD
100Mbit connection

so here the problem the only big site i got on my server is http://www.animejunk.net, and for some reason the server uses 950mb of RAM.
now i have read on a other forum that the problem is the apache and the mysql, now i tweaked the settings specialy to my server specs.
i have also read that joomla is taking alot of cpu and ram, the problem is not my cpu becuase thats running perfect.
i have improved the template's images and removed many modules to see if that was the problem, the site was just running perfectly and now it's taking my ram for some reason that i do not know.

if anyone could give me some tips or wanna help me out to fix this, i would appriciate the help alot becuase just one joomla site cannot take that much of ram.

this is the information on ram useage the server is useing now...

Total Memory 1017060 kB
Free Memory 27296 kB

if more information is needed just ask me.

Do you have query caching enabled? If so, you should look at your MySQL settings and see if the cache size is set to high.

Joomla can take way more than 1024 MB RAM under some circumstances. Especially query caching hits on the RAM.

What OS are you running? Most Linux distros will show a lot of RAM being used, even though it's not technically tied up. I wouldn't be concerned until you are hitting a good amount SWAP.

I've had a similar thing with my linux machine last weekend. Things that were done:
- update to latest debian release
- remove innodb support, since i'm not using it (saved me 350 mb ram instantly)
- updated kernel to the latest

Things are running a lot better now, going to add another GB of ram this week.
